Formerly the National Chef for Sur La Table, Joel has taught thousands of home cooks how to be more confident in the kitchen. For two seasons Joel hosted the award winning Hulu TV series “Scraps” where he traveled across the country, cooking alongside other food waste champions to create epic meals using food waste. In 2019 Joel wrote his first cookbook, “Cooking Scrappy”, a collection of 100 recipes to help you stop wasting food, save money, and to love what you eat. Joel continues to be a regular cooking correspondent on NBC's Today Show and makes frequent appearances on international cooking media outlets. Joel is a graduate of both the Culinary Institute of America and the Culinary Institute of Italy.
